God’s Wisdom for a Vibrant Faith

Classes

April 7 - May 19 at 9am in the Heritage Room

Calvary Core: Imago Dei

There are certain doctrines that we consider core to our Christian faith, deeply affecting how we live, work, worship, and weep. One of those is the doctrine of Imago Dei, the reality that we are made in the image of God. We will be exploring how this truth affects our lives when we consider sin, diversity, disability, suffering, and even the reality of our bodies. The class will begin on April 7th, the week following Easter, so plan on joining us for a seven week series as we work through this theology for life: living as those made in the image of God.

Starting April 7 at 9am in the Heritage Room

With Christ in the School of Humility

In a letter to a student, the African Church Father Augustine said the three most important characteristics of Christian discipleship are "first, humility; second, humility; and third, humility." Drawing from the life and teachings of Jesus, this class will explore how Christians can more deeply understand true humility and exhibit it before God and others.

April 7 - May 19 at 9am in the Dining room Room

Birds and Bees

We live in a culture that has a lot to say to our children about sexuality, so it is essential for families have a game plan on how they want to approach the subject in a way that aligns with their own voice and values.

However, this doesn’t mean that we need to do alone! If you would be interested in help from your Calvary community in addressing these topics, our birds and bees class is for you. The class will follow the birds and bees curriculum, and will meet for seven weeks to discuss the major topics that we will need to inform our children about. We’d love for you to join!

Calvary Institute

The Calvary Institute is a 9 month program designed to equip you to fulfill your calling as a Christian. We would love to have you join this intentional community that is committed to wrestling with deep questions and learning together. We are accepting applications through early September.

Calvary Residency Program

The Residency Program at Calvary is a one year commitment focused on the formation of those called to vocational ministry. We intentionally invest in the theological, spiritual, personal, and ministry formation of our residents in order to see them equipped to serve the church wherever God places them.

We select from a candidate pool of college graduates who are discerning a call to vocational ministry, and who are willing to commit to 20 hours a week here at Calvary. Applications open in the spring, with the program running from August 1st–June 30th.
