Jonathon & Carrie Gorny

The Gornys

Jonathon has worked for Young Life for the past 15 years. He started out on student staff while in college at Bowling Green State University in 2006. He then moved on to full time staff when he moved to Berwyn in 2007.  He worked for ten years as the Area Director at Riverside-Brookfield High School working directly with volunteer leaders hoping to relationally make Christ known to high school students in the community. 

Then in 2017 he transitioned into an Associate Regional Director, a position that focused on  development of new ministries and supervision of staff. He helped start ministries in Morton East and West, Timothy Christian,  Hinsdale South, Palatine high school. In 2020, he transitioned from working in Chicago to becoming the Regional Director of the Raceway Region (Indiana and Kentucky) of Young Life, overseeing staff spread out over the two states. His primary focus is pastoral care for staff and developing sustainable community honoring ministries across the region.

Jonathon’s biggest hope in ministry is to leverage my God given gifts, privileges, and experiences to create access to the Gospel where otherwise it may not exist.
