Our Vision
Love is our Vision
Calvary's mission is: "Receiving, practicing, and sharing the love of Jesus Christ." When the Church receives Gods' free love in Christ, practices this love in faithful obedience, and shares this love with the world, the church grows up into being a faithful expression of the people of God.

Worship
The first movement of the Christian life is upward toward God. When we come to know the "breadth and length and height" of God's love for us we are compelled to return God's love in heartfelt worship. On Sundays we join together as a congregation to celebrate God in songs of praise, hear his word preached, and commune with each other and Christ in the sacraments--all with a view to fueling a "whole-life" of worship Monday through Saturday.
“Those who are loved enter fearlessly into the heart of their lover.”
- John Chrysostom, 4th century

Fellowship
The second movement of the Christian life is inward toward each other. Christians have the privilege of partnering with God in sharing his love. The most immediate context in which to share God's love is with our church family. Throughout the week we fellowship with each other over God's word (weekly bible studies), meet in small groups (mens, womens, and home groups), and work to meet each others' tangible needs (benevolence, recovery ministries, and beyond)--all as ways of tangibly expressing God's love to each other.
"By helping your neighbor, little by little, you will reach the point where you will desire his benefit as your own and his success as your own. That is what it means to love your neighbor as yourself."
-Maximus the Confessor, 7th century

Mission
The third movement of the Christian life is outward toward the world. When the love of God captures the human heart, the human heart turns outward in love toward the world. We provide many programs and ministries (legal support, teaching English, and beyond), as well as support local and global mission partners—all with a view to sharing God's love with our local community and world.
“[The soul] loves every person with the same love she sees herself loved with, and this is why the soul, as soon as she comes to know me, reaches out to love her neighbors.”
-Catherine of Siena, 14th century
