David & Rachael Powell

The Powells

David and Rachael Powell continue to minister with the South America Mission, assigned to Peru. Now living in the US for health reasons, they make periodic trips to Peru for ministry purposes: teaching the Word, discipling, or field leadership participation. Their ministry now includes a more mission-wide focus as David has been named Indigenous Advocate, first for the Ashaninka people of Peru, then for other indigenous ministries with which SAM works.

They also have been asked to input into the lives of new missionary candidates, sharing their experiences of God’s faithfulness through their years on the field. Additionally, Rachael will be helping to review, revise, and develop some processes for SAM’s personnel department that will benefit the missionary community as a whole.
