Making Disciples of Christ.
The commission of Christ is clear; “go and make disciples.” Everything we do as a student ministry at Calvary is centered around the goal of making disciples of Christ. In Acts 2:42-47, we see a picture of the Church, newly gathered in Jerusalem, and how they go about discipling the new converts from Peter’s sermon at Pentecost. Three things stand out. First, we see their commitment to receiving the grace of God through prayer, praise, and the Apostles’ teaching. Second is their love for each other shown in sacrificial generosity and hospitality, what is often translated “fellowship”. Third, we see the Mission of God and the Kingdom of God expanding through the efforts of these disciples, to where Luke can write, “And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.”
